# Introduction

With gamers at heart and strategic investors in mind, we aspire to become the most prominent gaming hub or guild on the MultiversX Network. <mark style="color:blue;">**Orcas.gg**</mark> is a community-governed organization that builds a sustainable virtual economy by onboarding as many gamers as possible, investing in play-to-earn games and their in-game assets, and building tools to enhance the future of gaming and the metaverse.

In the initial stages, the founding team will help steer the [Governance](/orcas.gg-guilds-and-games/orcas.gg/governance.md), but as more tokens are released to the community and public, the steering becomes more and more decentralized. Gaming is probably the most underrated and exciting use-case in crypto so far.

A gaming guild is a community of gamers who help one another inside and outside a particular game. A gaming guild is an organization that consists of investors, gamers, and managers. They act as facilitating intermediaries by purchasing in-game assets as NFTs, lending to thousands of players to play and earn yields. Crypto gaming guilds offer several benefits, including allowing players to participate in P2E games they cannot afford independently.<br>

Blockchain technology is an advanced database mechanism that allows transparent information sharing within a business network. A blockchain database stores data in blocks linked together in a chain. The data is chronologically consistent because you cannot delete or modify the chain without consensus from the network. As a result, you can use blockchain technology to create an unalterable or immutable ledger for tracking orders, payments, accounts, and other transactions. In addition, the system has built-in mechanisms that prevent unauthorized transaction entries and create consistency in the shared view of these transactions.
